John Barton for Assembly

D-Splay.com was asked to maintain John Barton's website late in the campaign season. Too late for a redesign to make any kind of impact on the campaign. We tried to improve upon what was available by adding a few touches.

We cleared the HTML of excess script replacing repetative FONT tags with a style sheet, and creating makeshift JavaScript include files for top and bottom navigation. We did not have the option to use server-side scripts such as ASP or PHP.

D-Splay.com introduced CSS to the website to spare maintenance time and slightly increase dowload speed.

Redistribution of articles and news items was required to simplify site organization.

Updates were made on a daily basis usually adding event schedules or the latest news article.

If there had been time to redesign John Barton's website it would feature a fluid design, volunteer login pages, newsletters, more images of John Barton, and the home page would be more informative of who John is, and what his position on key issues were... etc.
